Country music star Ernest reconnected with his faith after taking a step back from the spotlight.<\/p>\n

The “Gettin’ Gone” singer, whose full name is Ernest Keith Smith, checked in with his fans on social media Tuesday, weeks after dropping out of Ella Langley’s<\/a> “The Dandelion Tour.”<\/p>\n

Ernest, 27, admitted on Instagram<\/a> that he was “lost” and actively searching for answers in life, but was grateful for the people who stood beside him with “love and support.”<\/p>\n

“Bottom line is I was LOST\u2026 i recon I still am \u2026 but the search is on\u2026. And that\u2019s new to me,” he shared on Instagram with a carousel of images.<\/p>\n

“If anything, through this time, I am really starting to touch back in with my relationship with God<\/a>\u2026 growing up in the church \/ Christian school, I would say I got a bit burnt out on it all.”<\/p>\n

Ernest recognized that he spent “too long” relying “on my own (dumba–) way and thinking I can outsmart my better judgment [sic].”<\/p>\n

“That\u2019s not the case\u2026. I don\u2019t have many answers at all\u2026. But I do know where it\u2019s starting\u2026. A dialogue with something greater than ME,” he wrote.<\/p>\n

“I can\u2019t define it and don\u2019t know if anyone really can\u2026 I just know that I have a beautiful life, family and friends that deserve me at my best. I deserve that for me too.”<\/p>\n

He added, “I\u2019m not preaching by any means\u2026. But I just wanted to let yall know I\u2019m taking this time to dig and discover. I love yall\u2026 and I love country music\u2026 Il [sic] be back to both soon!”<\/p>\n

Last month, the country music singer announced he was dropping out of Langley’s tour to focus on his health.<\/p>\n

“The road has been dragging me down in a bad way,” he shared on social media. “From mental to physical health. I am going away for a couple of weeks to get myself and my priorities back in order.<\/p>\n
