Dominik Mysterio<\/a> vowed to walk into Triplemania 34 as the AAA mega champion and walk out the same when he defended his title against El Grande Americano in Mexico City on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The former partners-turned-bitter rivals knew the match was going to be brutal heading into the main event. Midway through Night 2, AAA broadcaster Corey Graves announced the match had no disqualifications, allowing chairs, belts and anything else to get into the mix.<\/p>\n

Mysterio started off with the weaponry. He took a chair to El Grande Americano\u2019s midsection and then used Dorian Rold\u00e1n\u2019s belt to add some extra pain. Just as El Grande Americano was in control, he was distracted by Mysterio\u2019s Judgment Day brother JD McDonagh. Still, Mysterio couldn\u2019t get the pinfall.<\/p>\n

Los Americanos came out to support El Grande Americano as they took out McDonagh. Bravo Americano went to the top of the video board and splashed onto Rayo, McDonagh and AAA officials trying to separate the group. El Grande Americano did his best to flatten Mysterio in the meantime, but couldn\u2019t get the job done.<\/p>\n

Just when Los Americanos thought they had order in the match, Omos came out to support Mysterio<\/a>. Omos, who won Copa Bardahl earlier in the night, tried to stymie El Grande Americano\u2019s momentum. El Grande Americano avoided a shoulder attack from Omos on the outside and hit Mysterio in the ring with two headbutts.<\/p>\n

Mysterio is the champion for a reason. He mustered up a shoulder to escape the pin.<\/p>\n

Mexico City stood on its feet for El Grande Americano. But Mysterio dug deep to halt his opponent, at least for the time being. Liv Morgan<\/a> came out to knock El Grande Americano off the top rope. Mysterio hit the 619 and a frog splash, but couldn\u2019t pin his opponent down. Morgan was shocked. Mysterio was shocked.<\/p>\n

El Grande Americano fought through the disruptions but ended up hitting the official with a headbutt. Mysterio knocked El Grande Americano out with the Mega Championship. But his high-risk follow up was unsuccessful. El Grande Americano hit Mysterio with a headbutt and went for the cover.<\/p>\n

Without a referee in sight, AAA general manager Rey Mysterio rushed to the ring with a neck brace on and counted the pin for El Grande Americano.<\/p>\n

El Grande Americano won the Mega Championship, defeating Dominik Mysterio.<\/p>\n

Rey Mysterio enacted some revenge on his son after being brutalized by Omos on Night 1 of Triplemania 34<\/a>. But Dominik Mysterio learned the hard way not to cross the boss.<\/p>\n

El Grande Americano has come a long way to become the AAA champion. He needed to fight Original El Grande Americano to keep his mask. He needed to be betrayed by Dominik Mysterio.
