Dallas Cowboys<\/a> team owner Jerry Jones has a little more pep in his step.<\/p>\n

As it was written earlier this week, Jones told reporters there was “nothing more dangerous than an old man with money” following the Cowboys\u2019 win over the Washington Commanders<\/a>. On Tuesday, through two weeks of the 2026 season, he appeared to have Super Bowl fever already.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s likely that the billionaire NFL team owner is always dreaming of getting back to the glory days of the 1990s. I mean, aren\u2019t we all? But it has meant more to Jones to get the Cowboys back on top as the team hasn\u2019t even appeared in an NFC Championship Game since 1995.<\/p>\n

Dak Prescott\u2019s four touchdown passes against the Commanders and notching his name as the franchise leader in passing touchdowns has Jones energized.<\/p>\n

“I think he\u2019s the poster child of any players I\u2019ve been around of what you can do self-improve. He’s a product of his own work ethic,” Jones said of Prescott on Dallas\u2019 105.3 The Fan<\/a>. “He’s a product of his focus on getting better at every detail of his game. I’m happy to say that he’s a better quarterback today than he’s ever been. And he’s playing a position that, even though you might have a little diminished physical skill, it\u2019s a position where if you approach it the way he’s approached his career, you will be a better player.<\/p>\n

“I’m glad we’ve got him. His record indicates the best at an overall view. \u2026 How he got where he is, is to me a noteworthy leg on his chair of being the best. And he can be the best out there as far as I’m concerned. … He’s playing at an extremely high level that gives us our best chance (to win a Super Bowl). We still have the opportunity to get him championships.”<\/p>\n

Prescott\u2019s health will be imperative moving forward.<\/p>\n

The 11-year veteran only played eight games in 2024 and five games in 2020. He made it through 12 games in 2022.<\/p>\n

But coming off a career-high 404 completions and a fourth Pro Bowl appearance<\/a> in 2025, Prescott has shown up and showed out so far in 2026. The Week 1 loss against the New York Giants appeared to be firmly in the rearview mirror.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
