The New York Giants<\/a> are one of the NFL’s biggest surprises this season, sitting atop the NFC East. But that doesn’t mean they’re not banged up.<\/p>\n

Quarterback Jaxson Dart<\/a> and wide receiver Malik Nabers have both missed time with injuries this season, so you can understand why fans would be nervous to hear that running back Cam Skattebo was a limited participant in practice due to a shoulder injury.<\/p>\n

But, in true run-straight-ahead Skattebo style, he seems like he’s less worried about it than just about anyone else.<\/p>\n

The former Arizona State Sun Devil, who infamously had to be told to stop backflipping while returning from a brutal leg injury<\/a>, said that he told the offensive coordinator that he’s ready to go on Sunday against the Washington Commanders<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Yeah, I already told Coach Nags, ‘Just give me the ball, we’ll be fine,'” Skattebo said on Friday.<\/p>\n

That’s the kind of Skattebo-branded recklessness we all enjoy.<\/p>\n

However, he said that he was dealing with some muscle tightness which had since worked itself out, and that the no-contact jersey he was seen wearing earlier in the week was a precaution.<\/p>\n

“I’m good,” he said. “Just a little muscle tightness; nothing to worry about … they told me to wear [the no-contact jersey] just for safety. Just doing what I’m told.”<\/p>\n

Alright, so while Skattebo still has that cavalier, “Give me the ball, and I’ll run into anything with a pulse and several things without them,” he’s learning to pick his battles.<\/p>\n

Through four games this season, Skattebo has 235 rushing yards and one touchdown, while averaging 3.5 yards per carry.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
