Munich convincingly shows support for immigration as counter protesters turn back PEGIDA’s anti-immigration protest march. MUNICH (MunichNOW News) — The first Monday evening in 2015, like the last ten or so of the previous year, brought another round of PEGIDA protests in cities around Germany. Once again the citizens of Munich convincingly showed their opposition to the anti-immigration movement. Aside from the Saxon city of Dresden, where the protests both began and have increased in number, and which has a long history of right wing extremism, most other major German cities on this cold January evening had counter-protesters that far outnumbered those in the original waves of protests.
