Rams OL Alaric Jackson expecting two-game suspension after punching Bills defender Bradley Chubb

The NFL is expected to suspend Los Angeles Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson for two games after punching Buffalo Bills edge rusher Bradley Chubb after Monday night’s shootout and potential Super Bowl preview.

Footage of Jackson’s tirade is indisputable, and the consequences are entirely self-inflicted. Monday night’s childish spectacle saw Jackson marching into the midfield, losing his cool, and throwing a bare-knuckle punch at Chubb. Jackson is expected to appeal the suspension.

The official suspension statement read, in part: “After the game, as players were shaking hands and exchanging jerseys, Jackson struck Buffalo linebacker Bradley Chubb in the face after a brief confrontation, violating Rule 12, Section 3, Article 1, which applies to “any act which is contrary to the generally understood principles of sportsmanship.”

Chubb, to his credit, took the higher road and kept his composure, letting Buffalo teammates pull him back, and allowed Jackson to bury himself on national television. He understood what Jackson couldn’t: the cameras are running, and the bill always comes due.

After the game, Chubb gave his reaction. “It’s just emotions,” he said, “They always catch the second guy. So, I let him swing. And then my teammates held me back, and I just chilled.”

Chubb is a smart man; Jackson, not so much.

With Alaric Jackson, poor judgment is more of a pattern than a fluke.

Just four months ago, in June 2026, Jackson was arrested on charges of felony domestic violence in Southern California.

While prosecutors bypassed formal criminal charges in favor of a pre-filing diversion hearing, the incident remains subject to ongoing NFL review.

In 2024, the league slapped Jackson with a two-game suspension under the Personal Conduct Policy after he recorded intimate encounters on his phone without consent, an incident that later triggered a civil lawsuit.

At some point, the headaches are eclipsing the talent. Rams coach Sean McVay preaches accountability and culture, yet his starting tackle keeps showcasing eye-rolling volatility.

The Rams sit at 2-3 in a tight NFC race, desperately needing stability to protect Matthew Stafford’s blind side. Jackson will be out of action when his team needs him most.
